We have just run our first term of
our Stretch, Core and Recovery class
for endurance/multisport athletes and
will be running an 8 week term starting Wednesday July 23 until
Wednesday September 17.

NEXT TERM
Dates: 8 Wednesday nights commencing Wednesday July 23 and
finishing Wednesday September 17
Time: 8.30-9.30pm Unfortunately we were unable to find an
earlier timeslot.
Venue: Engadine Health (previously known as the squash centre)

Format:
1 hour class lead by qualified Sports Physiotherapist, Matt
McEwan. Limit of 15 participants to allow supervision of
technique.

Stretching : Safe effective stretching specific to triathlon,
multisport and swimming. Probably won’t get you doing splits or
balancing on your head but will improve functional range of
movement for swimming, riding and running

Core strengthening: Safe effective progression of exercises for
trunk muscles including shoulder blade stabilisers, abdominals,
glutes and back muscles. Essential for long flat bike rides (Busselton
anyone?)

Recovery: We will use some simple gadgets for some easy self
massage techniques. Trigger points, active fascial release,
rollers etc. Learn how to breathe more effectively and practice
muscle relaxation techniques.
Cost: $160 for 8 week term.
Payable on booking. May be claimable on Private Health Insurance
under Group Physiotherapy items. Please check with your Insurer.
What to bring:

Wear suitable gear for the exercises above, including running
shoes

2 towels (make one a thick beach towel)

2 tennis balls ($2 shop ones are perfect)

Foam roller if you have one. A $2 shop pool noodle works
perfectly well
-
Swiss/Gym/Medi-Ball if you have one (not until week 2 or 3). If
you need to buy one we will have special deals on professional
quality balls for you to purchase
